This is part of a special series of compilations of analog audiophile recordings at their best, with emphasis on execution and great sound.

The 2xHD Fusion Mastering System is an innovation in audio restoration for a virtual audio reality. In the constant evolution of its proprietary mastering process, 2xHD has progressed to a new phase called 2xHD Fusion, integrating the finest state-of-the-art analog Nagra-T tape recorder modified with high-end tube playback technology, wired with OCC silver cable for better transparency and 3D imaging. 2xHD Vinyl are sourced from first generation analog recordings without any digital corruption. The cutting is done at Bernie Grundman Mastering Lab on tube cutting equipment.

The 2xHD proprietary mastering provides a unique listening experience as the process digs deep in original recordings to bring out all hidden information, without altering the music in any way, uncovering, and bringing out nuances, warmth, depth of field and even the air around the musicians.

Based in Montreal and created by audiophile sound engineer Ren Laflamme and producer Andr Perry. All 2xHD audiotapes are from the original analog master and transfer in analog domain using a Nagra-T tape recorder, modified with high-end tube playback electronics, wired from the playback head. In the high-end audio world, Ren has carved out a reputation for the definition of excellence and uses his knowledge and unfailing instinct to match various audio components to create the best all-encompassing sound experience. The company plans to release a new title every 2 months.

Now 2xHD presents on reel-to-reel 1/4-inch 15-inch-per-second tape a collection of jazz and classical titles to meet and exceed the highest audiophile standards. All 2xHD tapes are from the original analog master and transfered in the analog domain using a Nagra-T tape recorder, modified with high-end tube playback electronics, wired with OCC silver cable from the playback head direct to a Nick Doshi tube head preamplifier. The Nagra T, with its four direct drive motors, two pinch rollers and a tape tension head, is one of the best transports ever made. A custom-built carbon fiber head block and a head damping electronic system permit 2xHD FUSION to obtain more transparency and better 3D imaging. This copy was recorded on a Nagra IV-S 1/4" at 15 ips.

From the worlds of movies, blues, percussion ensembles, world music, and jazz, this is a special compilation of analog audiophile recordings at their best, with emphasis on execution and great sound. A must for the reel-to-reel enthusiast.

I am not an enthusiast of audiophile samplers, but sometimes they can be useful. Many enthusiasts might find an interesting selection of well-crafted pieces. The challenge undertaken by the 2xHD label is to create high-resolution DSD formats from high-quality Analog Masters.

In some musical demos of the past season, I got to grasp the dynamics and naturalness of analog recordings through analog tapes listened to on high-quality Nagra machines. In other words: the true analog sound. It is clearly a luxury listening, not only for the commitment in terms of cost and maintenance of a high-end tape machine but also due to the rarity of the masters.

This CD digipack which includes 2 discs, and a 32-page instruction booklet, was created to help the audiophile as well as the neophyte find the best placement for their speakers to obtain optimum performance within their personal parameters. The 66 tracks include 115 minutes of music, sonic examples, verbal instructions, and 17 tracks of audiophile music. This best-selling album will help you set up your speakers for an ultimate listening experience.
