I've had Go Button for many years now, and have had 0 problems.  Within the last 6 months I'll be mid-show and my music either doesn't cue properly, has a delayed cue, or appears to be playing with no sound.  I've tested this out with out the speaker connection and it does the same thing when I'm just playing it from the iPhone.  Go Button admin sent over some troubleshooting stuff, but it either has not helped or does not apply.  Anyone else?  It's just been glitching in the past several months and I've seen a few similar threads out there.  Help!

I’ve had the same type of thing happening (I play from my iPad Pro) - except that I can see that it’s not playing at all, even though I’ve triggered it to do so. I have to completely turn off my ipad, and turn it back on for it to play again. Of course, this method is totally  unacceptable during a show..

Hi Brad --

This could be symptomatic of bad encoding of the audio file, in which case a good troubleshooting technique is to transcode the file(s) to AIFF or WAV.

If you are using tracks from the Music library on your device, we recommend using a desktop computer to get a copy of the actual file from iTunes whenever possible so that you can import it into your app Documents folder. The Music Library is convenient, but it is an external process that is out of Go Button's control since Apple manages how apps can access it. For long-term stability, having your audio files in your Documents folder is always better.

I should add the usual caveat that third-party apps like Go Button can only play DRM-free music.

The desktop version of the Apple Music app will allow you to download many types of files for offline listening, but only tracks that you've uploaded to your cloud library yourself (old-time "iTunes Match") or DRM-free purchases ("iTunes Plus") will be playable from the Go Button "Documents" folder.

Typically the file extension of a playable file will be .m4a.  If it's .m4p, that is a protected file that is not playable.
