Immediate stop instead of fade out?

Hi Brent.

Wondering if there is a way to stop a cue so it stops immediately upon hitting the stop sign icon rather than the built in fade out?

There is a cue in my show where I’d really like to have it cut off as soon as stop is pressed, but it doesn’t do that. The track fades out (even if there isn’t a ‘Fade out’ selected for that Cue)…

Am I missing a setting or is that something that isn’t possible?

Still LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this rock solid app!

Thanks!
JMC

Sorry…I was INCORRECT with my ask…

What I meant to ask is if there is a way to stop a cue so it stops immediately upon pressing a remote (We use an AirTurn pedal). THAT is the scenario where it fades out (the stop icon works perfectly well ;)

Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks!

Hi JMC --

It sounds like your cue might still have a go action assigned to it that is set to fade out the cue.

Several of the preset buttons in Cue Edit configure both the Fade Out Time of the cue and for convenience add a fade out go action as well. This is intended to give you options - either let the cue play out to its full duration (at which point the automatic fade out occurs), or optionally trigger a GO mid-cue to fade out on-demand.

Sometimes people want no fade out at the end of the cue but the option to trigger a fade out mid-cue, etc -- which is why the cue "Fade Out Time" and go actions are two separate concepts, each with their own durations.

You can scroll down a bit farther in the Cue Edit screen to the "Go Actions" section and set the duration of your go action to 0:00 so that it does an immediate fade instead.

Hi Brent,

I’ll certainly have a look at that. But I never have set a fade out for any of our cues (we are a musical act, so all the songs have a specific ending).

I will double check that setting, give it another go and report back.

Thanks!
