to Go Button
Hi Folks,

It's been a while since i asked this question, so I thought I'd try and politely ask again?

It's been nearly 3 years since the last update to Go Button. I appreciate we've all been through a hell of a lot since then. In the UK we've re-opened theatres three times. I also appreciate how small a company Figure53 is. The Qlab 5 development has been a heck of a job! and you're still not done with it...

But...

Is there any chance of some kind of update on development status? What's the plans? what's the timescales?

I get that Go Button is free for most users... in fact, I'd happily pay for it if what you got for the license was worth it? (not a criticism here....  but multiple shows isn't worth £99. Maybe number of cues instead? or video slideshows? or remote control? (I was one of the original writers of the Companion module)... just saying that you're giving too much away free and we love you for it!).

Anyway... We love Go Button and don't want to see it die. If other users can give it some love in replies too?

Thanks,

Anthony.

Hello Anthony,

It can feel frustrating, can’t it? To us to — we would love to be able to do more, faster releases on everything we make. I can’t speak for the other developers here, and particularly for Brent who makes Go Button, but I know that I’ve personally felt a pain when there is a product that I love and am excited about and it is taking longer than I want to see it grow the way I know it can grow.

I feel grateful that you care about Go Button as much as we do.

Since you remember what I explained last time — that we can not return to working on Go Button until QLab 5 is done — I think you’ll understand that my answer is the same as last time.  And I know that may be frustrating! But it is true, and honest. So, I have shared with you everything we know about the development status, the plan, and the timescale. :)  And I can also say that we absolutely do not plan to stop working on Go Button.

Warmly,
Chris

In all candor, Go Button pretty much does everything I need it to do in its present form. I wish adding, deleting, and renaming cues was a bit easier but I am not sure if iPad OS really gives the developers a way to do that.

Best,
Jay
