Hey guys,

Can anyone tell me the proper way to determine if you use "everyday" or
"every day"?

by the way guys, this does relate to Harding Basketball because
academics are more important than school athletics anyways. Just ask
Coach Carter.

"Everyday" is an adjective, so it describes an object or some sort of
occurrence as something common in daily life. (i.e. "Showering is an
everyday task for me.")

"Every day" is technically a noun (with an adjective), although it can
be used in the same way as "everyday." The correct way to use it, if
you want to distinguish the two, would be to use it to refer to a
specific time frame. (i.e. "Joan is late to work every day." or "Every
day is a new day.")

Joan is my co-worker...and she's late every day. Well, only about 15
minutes late, but after she's done socializing and eating breakfast,
it's already 9:00.

OK, Thanks for the help.

The reason I wanted to know was because a kid asked me if it was used
correctly in a sentence he read from the GPH. I had no idea what to
tell him.
