(press release from www.goat-track.com) In a decision that created a
stir within the Goat Tracking community and my have offended some of
the course's regular patrons, Hawk's Landing CC (f/k/a Pattonbrook GC)
earned the distinction of being named "2008 Goat Track of the Year" by
Goat-Track.com. As much as it defies logic to nominate, let alone
award, a course with "Country Club" in its name for this prestigious
honor, the powers that be at Goat-Track.com saw Hawk's Landing's
"inner Goat Track" and determined that it was a worthy recipient.

To receive consideration for the Goat Track of the Year award, Hawk's
Landing CC was grandfathered in, based on its former par-61 layout
when it was known as Pattonwood GC and had quintessential Goat Track
conditions (per the Tracker known as Rabbit Ears). Although Hawk's
Landing may be trying to go upscale (and be unTracklike) with all
kinds of amenities, decent course conditions and whatnot; it has
retained enough of its "true Goat Track essence," for the voters to
appreciate and reward. Nice job of cleverly disguising a Goat Track,
yet still leaving a course that Goat Trackers can appreciate.

(A more detailed review of Hawk's Landing can be found on the More
Tracks page of Goat-Track.com, which sheds light on why this course
earned such a prestious award)
