Prakash Parienkar's short stories... and the need for translations in Goa

Prakash Parienkar's book of short stories, translated from Konkani into English, gets a 3+ hour release and discussion at the Goa University, where the Sahitya Akademi-prizewinning author is associate professor. In these sessions, in both English and Konkani, you can hear about his stories, other writers on writing, the plans of Goa U. to launch a translation cell, and discussions on the need for more translations happening in multilingual Goa. There's also a bilingual performative reading of the book, translated by Vidya Pai. The function was held on Wednesday September 17, 2025 morning at the varsity conference hall. Professors and students from other colleges were among those who attended. Recording: Frederick Noronha frederic...@gmail.com +91-9822122436. https://youtu.be/QzubiSndjZU
