Some of you may be aware of the Goan Rosary Group started by Graça D’Costa from Lisbon, and I thought of giving you some background information about this group.
The period of isolation brought on by the Covid pandemic of 2020 prompted Graça to create a Portuguese Conversation Group with some teacher friends.
Graça later participated in Novenas to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour with a group of Portuguese Goans. Seeing that many elderly people were unable to participate due to mobility issues, Graça, with the help of a CV nun (Sister Maria do Carmo) decided to start a Rosary Group so that people from various parts of the world could join in.
The first online Rosary group met on the first Sunday of October 2022 and continues to this day --- thanks to the dedication of Graça and her sister Carolina and current participants.
The group has interested individuals from all over the world - notably, Goa, England, Canada, Norway, United States and even Australia on occasions.
The group meets on the first or second Sunday of each month where the Rosary is recited in different languages - Portuguese, English and Konkani.(I am brushing up on my Swahili and may introduce a Swahili version when I become proficient enough!)
It is hoped that more would join the group and those willing can contact Graça
gpfc...@gmail.com Thank you.
