The site amche.in aims to encourage citizen environmental activism. It does it by offering details about diverse localities in Goa. In this video, Cartographer Arun Ganesh explains what it can do and what it could be used for. This community-driven mapping project, created by a small team of volunteers and committed citizens, has been built on top of open geographic data like OpenStreetMap, but it also incorporated many specialised layers relevant to Goa (for example, surveying and planning datasets). This was made possible by a mix of volunteer contributions and thoughtful data curation to provide otherwise hard-to-find spatial datasets in one place. Ganesh's "about" definition on LinkedIn says: "Working towards a world where every person has access to the sum of all human knowledge.
