Hey guys.

I have a question about using the Inbox in Goals To Do. I understand
the concept of the Inbox as discussed in David Allen's book. I use the
Inbox quite a bit in another GTD software application on my laptop
(I'm anxiously awaiting the PC version of Goals To Do<g>).

Let's say I put some items in the Inbox in Goals To Do. And let's say
I don't really know where I want to put that item right now. Then
let's say I eventually decide where I want to put those Inbox items.
How do I transfer those Inbox items to either Actions or Someday/
Maybe?

Thanks.

Rick

Dear Rick

In GOALS, the inbox works as follows:

All actions added go the inbox and stay there until "clean up inbox"
is executed.
After this, the actions remain in the database, of course.

The goal of the inbox is to record actions which may be added with
uncomplete data (for instance not a complete name, no note, no
project, no context(s), no date(s) or so)

The user reviews and edits the inbox to complete the data. Before
cleaning up the inbox, the data should be completed.

Important: The fact whether an action belongs to the inbox or not does
not affect
any other properties of the action. Hence, inbox actions are set to
someday/maybe as other actions - only by setting from date to someday/
maybe manually for each particular action.
