Remembering Darryl D’ Monte: Resident Editor of the Indian Express and Times of India in Mumbai, author of “Temples or Tombs: Industry versus Environment” and “Ripping the Fabric: The Decline of Mumbai and its Mills”, Trustee of the Mumbai Waterfronts Centre and crusader for the environment long before it became a buzzword. His spirit lives on in this annual event, dedicated to his memory.
Sunita Narain, Keynote Speaker: She has led the campaign against the fossil fuel-based economies of the Western World. Her Centre for Science and Environment exposed the high level of pesticides in American brands like Coke and Pepsi. In 2012, she wrote the 7th State of India's Environment Reports, “Excreta Matters, an Analysis of Urban India's water supply and pollution” In 2016, Sunita Narain was on Time Magazine's list of 100 Most Influential People.
