PRESS NOTE

Panaji, June 1: Ashley do Rosario was unanimously elected general secretary of Goa Union of Journalists (GUJ) at a meeting held at the GUJ hall, Shramshkati Bhavan, Patto, Panaji on Saturday.

Kishor Shet Mandrekar was elected vice president, Gerard de Souza was elected as joint secretary and Premnath Gawade as treasurer. Sanghmitra Mainkar Faldessai was elected organising secretary.

The other executive committee members are Suhasini Prabhugaonkar, Sudesh Arlekar, Yeshwant Patil, Kailas Naik and Ganesh Shetkar.

The new executive committee was elected during the annual general body meeting held on May 25, 2013.

Kishor Naik Gaonkar was elected president by the general body.

The term of the new executive committee is for two years (2013-2015).
