Frederick:
In this message you have provided /listed  : " Some authentic open-source websites related to different subjects "  which employees and Students of Goa University can access.    How can members of GRN net access email of different departments,  know how many departments  Goa University has ? . Names of Professors of each Department.  Also can we access thesis Titles and Contents   (MSc and PhD) ?  and publications of GU ? This would be interesting and make Goa University more known in its activity and actions.

There seems to be some mixup here...
(1) The sites listed by Dr Gopakumar are all on the Internet, and accessible from anywhere on the planet (which has access to the Internet).
(2) The unigoa.ac.in site is publicly accessible too. Some sections though, like those accessing subscription-based databases, are accessible only from the campus or with a login, if I'm not mistaken. Do mention which pages you were trying to access and could not. Someone on this list could offer more details. Thanks, FN

Dear Frederick,

Until recently the publications/thesis repository associated with the university were accessible to the public, as good practices recommend. It was that way by which I and many other scholars were able to access and refer in their work, for instance, thesis submitted to GU. That seems to have stopped, at least for those situated outside India. It is a pity, and I believe a loss to both the authors having their work divulged and outside researchers to be able to updating themselves to Goan scholarship.

Best wishes,

Sandra

Sandra, There are many sites where thesis (full texts) are available. See:
https://www.unigoa.ac.in/library/knowledge-portal/free-open-access-resources/electronic-theses-dissertations/

Sodh Ganga has all Indian thesis included there, so I don't see any difficulty in finding any. Except maybe old theses which were never digitised:

Fred. My point is that it seems that at the site of GU they seem to have become unavailable. I had tried to get an answer regarding the matter, without success. As for Sodhsanga, being a site that I use, most times has the thesis divided by chapters which is realy frustrating if one does not look for a especific thesis and is just searching by keywords. It has happened to me when looking for a theme, finding one of such chapters and becoming really a hard work to understand who is the author and the name of the thesis. I have to confess that its been around a year that I don't use that repository and sincerely hope that such nonsense has been corrected. Best wishes, Sandra

I agree with Sandra. Using Sodhsangais very diffficult to get the author and citations of the chapter.
However,The Goa University site is accessible to me, but the access point may be wrong. My personal
example. If I put Costa, nothing comes because I have been entered under Fernandes. I tried to see how
best I could access my thesis. This is what I do: google. PhD Thesis, History, Goa University, 2023. It
works.
