I'm also aware that unfair reviews do happen ... due to various reasons. 

Sometimes books are taken seriously, depending on who publishes the same.

At other times, works are condemned based on who wrote it.

As for myself, am just keen to see writing on the Portuguese from other parts of Asia. FN

’Those ambitious old ladies...’ - best to stick to the scholarship or its questionable nature. This is a misogynist post - should be deleted or called out by those administering this.

Personally, I've found ambitious old men to be the far more pernicious + destructive problem. 

Nonetheless, I am saddened + troubled by these accusations about Dr. de Silva + hope we will hear her point of view soon.
