Proceedings of the National Seminar on
Oral Histories and Intangible Culture of Goa
“The seminar looked at Goa’s cultural journey through many lenses — its prehistoric past, its encounters with imperial and colonial powers, and the transformations after liberation. Oral histories provide us with an opportunity not only to revisit and correct
historical inaccuracies but also to enrich our understanding of the cultural mosaic that defines Goa today. They remind us that history is never a single story, but a tapestry woven from multiple strands of memory, tradition, and lived experience.”
— from the Preface by Dr. Pandurang Phaldesai
