JB Pinto, Kenya, and some Konkani broadcasting via there... (rough recordings)

THIS IS ONE aspect of history most of us would have forgotten. But in the
Kenya of the 1950s or thereabouts, there were Konkani programmes broadcast
from the Kenya Broadcasting Services. The family of the late J.B. Pinto
tracked down some of the recordings which their great-grandfather was
involved in. Also Horti Pinto, Xavier Moniz, Hortencia Pinto, D Mario 

Ferrrao, G. Mendonca, Michael Costa Correa, Jac, Abel Correa, among others.

Among these (i) Goa wedding traditions (in Konkani, right from
the proposal stage to the meeting up with the priest, and what not) (ii)
some Konkani dialogues (iii) mandos and dulpods (iv) party settings.

Delighted that this slice of history has been preserved.

I knew many of the people including Shirley;s great-grandparents

and also her grandfather(Xavier Moniz) They were all great friends

of my parents in Nairobi. Some of the other names also ring bells.
