Hosting a book release was a new one for me this month. Yvonne Vaz has written a novel titled Shadows in Time. The release was held at the "getting to a century” Saligão Institute, our very own village community hall. It’s a historical fiction novel, a love story, a family saga and a good read, I am sure. On the panel were playwright Isabel de Santa Rita Vas, award-winning Konkani writer Bhai Damodar Mauzo, the author herself ably and astutely moderated by writer José Lourenço. A vibrant crowd of people in the audience, by the way. (Yvonne’s cousins, others who had also come to Goa from Burma under trying circumstances and fellow gão [village] brothers and sisters.)
