‘Temples of Goa’ book presented to PM
Mangaluru: ‘Temples of Goa — A Spiritual Odyssey', a 362-page coffee-table book published by the World Konkani Centre, Shaktinagar, and designed and produced by Tarjani Communications, was presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by Goa CM Pramod Sawant on Aug 19, stated a release from Sanjay Prabhu, chairman of Tarjani Communications Pvt Ltd. The richly illustrated book showcases 50 temples of Goa, detailing their history, legends, architecture, deities, kulavis, festivals, and cultural traditions. Introductory chapters on the state's history, economy, religion and culture have been presented in an engaging style, supported by extensive research. The book has been researched, written and edited by Bharathi Shevgoor. First published in 2015, the volume was reprinted earlier this year by the Goa govt as part of 2025 Goa Statehood Day celebrations. Calling the presentation to the PM a proud milestone, Prabhu described the book as a keepsake that has won wide appreciation.
