Hello,

The first edition of the Goa Book Fair is starting tomorrow and will continue till the 13th. We hope you all can visit the book fair at the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. It is Goa's first book fair in many years, and we have worked hard towards getting some really good participants. We hope you will support this endeavour with your presence.

Two from [the GoaWriters] group are also having sessions during the book fair. Jessica Faleiro is having two travel writing workshops, on 10-Feb & 13-Feb-2023, from 2-3pm, while Annie Sen Gupta is organising a Comics Quiz on 13-Feb-2023 from 3:30-4:30pm. Please see if you can attend those too.

Also, requesting you to help us pass on the word about the book fair.

Thank you.

Warm Regards,
Leonard

COME AND ATTEND THE GOA BOOK FAIR!!! The Goa Book Fair, scheduled for 9-13 February, 2023, at the Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, brings together a spectacular mix of booksellers, publishers, and educators, with a large selection of books, new and pre-loved, for children and adults alike. While we promise that every reader will find a book, this book fair provides a unique opportunity for schools, libraries, and other such institutions to meet wih publishers and booksellers, and source the books they need. In addition, children are promised a really good time, with workshops and other book sessions scheduled for them. I did! I posted on the Facebook page of the once epicenter of Margão, Clube Harmonia with the following message. Let’s hope it works 😀
“ Families in Margão including the Veiga Coutinhos once had small home grown newspapers. Margão is also the home of the satirist GIP (Jacob e Dulce) and more recently Valmiki Faleiro who is documenting the brave Goans who joined the military services.
Unfortunately Margão has slid way deep into the black hole of non-readers.
Enter a young and enterprising book lover- book store owner Leonard Fernandes whose charming bookstore Dogears could bring back Margão to its golden Literary days.
He now is holding a Book Fair at the Ravindra Bhavan from 9-13th February 2023.
Go with your family and friends and bring back that old glory of a grand Margão! And support small businesses!!!”
