I too knew nothing about Carl D'Silva until three months ago,  when I 'chanced' to enter his house for a short visit,  as I shared during his funeral mass. I left the house nearly two hours later,  so lost I was in conversation with that talking bird encyclopedia!
I can hardly believe, till today,  that his bird paintings are not sharp,  high-resolution,  brilliantly coloured photographs!
And of all the articles on Carl that appeared in the press soon after the ornitho-patriarch's death,  Vivek, yours takes the cake. Viva!
Fr. Loiola.

Thanks very much, Fr. Loiola. I think we should petition the state to
rename the Salim Ali bird sanctuary after Carl.

Warm regards,

VM

Thanks Basil for this very informative article.

Don't feel shy about sharing articles that have already been published.

I recommend that you sit at the feet of Frederick Sir and learn the techniques of how to milk both paid as well as shared Community Commons  stuff to your advantage.

You know Basil I am considering writing a biography of the the Owner. Would you think it worth the while Basil-bab,?

And would Goa1556 consider publishing it without cuts Frederick-bab?

Dear Augusto,
This so-called feud between you and Frederick is very tedious especially since, if Frederick's account is to be believed, you are best buds in real life. At least if you injected some wit into the proceedings occasionally it might be entertaining. As it is, it looks like Frederick has taken away your feeding bottle and you are crying out for it with every post. If you want Frederick's attention so much, write a book. Then the two of you will be tearing into each other like vicious wolves and loving every minute of it. I should know :-)

Best,
Selma

Met Basil this evening, shared a chai (he has photographic proof!) and he was really, really confused about what this all meant. I tried my best to explain in under five minutes, the history, geography and trigonometry of all these references... but, sadly, didn't manage.

And btw, there is no contradiction between sharing and also earning while sharing.

This is not rocket science, nor a big secret!

Sandra, knowing the two quite well I find their 'boxing' matches very entertaining. It is all for public consumption. Take it or leave it.

Antubab aka Richard Cabral:

I guess you mean Selma?

You are spot on. This is AP's latest experimenting with his model of (what he calls) guerilla marketing. Only thing, instead of it being a book, the product here is an "FN" :-)

His calculation seems to be that the more controversial he makes me sound, the more interest will be generated. I keep telling him that we might actually get down to fighting someday.

Frankly, it can also be a bit unnerving at times... though I'm good at pretending to keep my calm. At almost all times. The mix of fact (a little) and fiction (a whole dose of it) is deadly... after a while, you too start wondering what exactly they're saying about you that is true. If AP keeps repeating such things so often, I'm quite sure I'll myself start believing some of the things he says about me!

For the record, everytime I don't show up at his house after a fortnight or so, his better half (undoubtedly!) Bibian asks AP: "Have you fought with Rico or what?"

Sorry San..oh Selma. From where that Sandra comes I don't how! Well I think you are understanding things much better than me. Good for you.

Methinks both AP and FN are involved in cross guerilla marketing. They make a lovely and utterly butterly fighting moderators who are rarely on the same page. The GBC survives the antics and the push of each other's egos clashing so often that GBC should now be renamed the AP-FN Circus.

COMMENT:

A very good Goemcan friend of mine has an acquaintance (I'd say...Long Distance professional colleague of sorts ) aka Banta K. who might agree that the Ownerador must be given seniority over the Modrador.
