I may have caught a viral poetic infection. Here goes a second poem dedicated to Konkani language (Konkani Mother) and Goan identity.

Khorench kai?
Goencheam Kristavank aiz Konknni naka
Poixe, dhan-doulot zai.

Aili portuguez, aili inglez
Porkeo bhaso, porkeo bailo
Monant rak, fittfittim songam sorot,
Konknnintuch bik magunk poddot.

Avoi ekuch, kolvontam xembor
Hem gott monant dovor.
Konkkni bhas asmitaechem bondor
Urlelem sogllem kott'ten dunvor.

Bhuk marunk pavle pordesant
Xekdde-lak Goenkar bhau.
Bhaso noveo, bailo porkeo
Ram-Pandurang tankam pau.

Pott bhorunk khuincheoi bhaso xik
Fokot konknnintuch bagoi humxik.
Gharant uloi Konknni
Gharabair gai firangi ganni.

Gharant Konknni uloupeamni
Xikounchi bhurgeank Konknni. 
Uprant bore English popott zaunk xoktele.
Zoxe adim Viva re Viva umedin gaitale.

Sobhit-mannkulem Goem
Aixileam-poixileanchea dolleant gelem.

For those of you who can't understand Konkani, here's my somewhat free translation of the first few verses of TRS's poem. I lost stamina after that but you'll get the idea of the rest...:

Mother Konknni

I'm going Mum.  No! - I'm coming Maim!

Really?

The Kristanvs of Goa don't want Konknni,

They want wealth, they want money, they want honey, bai.

The Portuguese came and the English followed,

With foreign tongues and foreign wives
We learned their fitfitti manner
That'll one day disappear

And in Konknni they will implore,

They'll beg, for alms.

Our mother is one, whores are aplenty -

Stick this in your heads.

Konknni's a beautiful mademoiselle

The rest - all smoke in a coconut shell!

Your partial and free translation of the poem is more catchy and suggestive than the original. 

As retired bekar I can do now what pleases me, rather than what was earlier required for career promotion.
