Hello my Fellow writer friends. Have a Happy and glorious and fun Sunday! 

I have a query on this sunny Sunday morning that has been brewing in my mind.

The file for the audio book for my latest book available on Amazon has been lying ready with me. I have spent quite a bit of money on it...recording studio hours etc. 

How does one upload it on Amazon? I am clueless. 

Do I do it or my publisher does it? He is struggling too. 

Please guide/ help/advice.

If you search online, you can find some pointers for this Rita. What a quick search reveals is:

• Amazon audiobook publishing is separate from uploading the ebook/print book, and who can upload it depends on how the audiobook was produced and who controls the rights.
• If your audiobook is intended for Audible/Amazon, the usual route is through ACX (Audiobook Creation Exchange).
• If your publisher owns or controls the audio rights, he/she may need to handle the upload; if you retain the audiobook rights, you can potentially publish it yourself. Also, if the recording was professionally produced, you should have the finished audio files, cover artwork, metadata, chapter breaks/files, and ISBN/ASIN information ready.
• The problem: ACX does not currently accept Indian residents. The official ACX help pages say that ACX is presently open only to rights holders resident in the US, UK, Canada or Ireland, with a local mailing address, taxpayer identification number and banking details. India is not currently on the eligible-country list.
• What options? Find an audiobook distributor that accepts Indian rights holders. This is probably the route I'd investigate first. A distributor can take your finished audio files and deliver them to Audible/Amazon and potentially other audiobook stores. The important thing is to make sure you retain the rights and understand the distributor's commission/contract OR Have your publisher handle distribution through an eligible foreign entity/person, if he genuinely has such a setup and the rights permit it.  
• Don't give the files to your publisher yet. First establish who owns the audiobook rights and what distribution route you want. You should have these things ready: final audiobook files, preferably one file per chapter; opening/closing credits; audiobook cover; book title and subtitle; author name; narrator name; description/blurb; chapter list; approximate total running time; ISBN, if you have an audiobook ISBN; the Amazon ASIN of the existing Kindle/print edition; written confirmation of who owns the audio rights.

Lots of info and tips out there online... But crosscheck to ensure you're getting the right and latest applicable info. FN
