The Margao book club session on Saturday was fascinating, with a lot of new and interesting viewpoints on Goan literature.

Although I had a little trouble finding the venue at first and was rather late, Leonard welcomed me in wholeheartedly, which I am very grateful for.

Thanks also to my friend Frederick, for pointing me in the right direction after making my way through the busy streets of Margao.

I read recently that Frederick is the current ‘My Goa quiz champion’ along with Paula Mhambre, so wishing them good luck if they are planning on retaining the crown on 30^th May.

What was apparent from the book club meeting on Saturday was that although Goa is a small state, it is sometimes difficult to travel into neighbouring cities for various reasons and so this proved a great opportunity for book lovers in the South of Goa to attend.

Let us hope that similar initiatives such as Frederick’s and Leonard’s are taken up in the far flung taluka’s so that more voracious readers with an appetite for books can enjoy the benefits.
