New bookstore in Goa

Hello!

We have finally opened our bookstore, That Book Store in Altinho, Panjim this weekend. We are a curated bookstore and house preloved and subsidised books across all ages. We are open Friday through Tuesday, only shut on Wednesday and Thursday and open over the weekend as well. Our hours are noon to 8 pm. You can find us on google maps as well. We encourage individuals and families to come and spend time browsing and selecting what they like from the store and are hoping to have more reading and other sessions in the future.

Considering that these are preloved (second-hand) books, it could be a tall order to expect the outlet to keep an uptodate listing of all available. My friend, KNS Murthy, who ran the Select Bookshop at 73A Brigade Road Cross in Bangalore had a better system -- he knew who was involve with what books, and would intimate (via postcard or inland then) any new titles. For me, it would be Goa, journalism and Catholicism... or whatever issues I was then involved with. It served well!

Barkha, congratulations on this new venture. Hope it works and sustains. In goa, the biggest challenges can be (i) phenomenal rents (ii) tiny crowds. But, with some innovation and luck it could really get there. If you wish, I could add you to some WhatsApp groups, where maybe you could announce a bargain-book-of-the-day offer!
