QUOTE Aptly described as journalist, author and memory keeper, Jane Borges has authored both fiction and non-fiction, most recently Bombay Balchão, a delightful chronicle of life in Cavel – a peaceful, yet fast-disappearing neighbourhood in South Mumbai. A book, perhaps, that led her to co-found Soboicar, an archival project that seeks to chronicle the stories of Catholic migrants, who made Mumbai their home and shaped and influenced some of its neighbourhoods, in collaboration with the Citizens' Archive of India. In between the books and the archival initiative she now leads, Jane was Deputy Editor at Sunday Mid Day, Mumbai, a stint that won her the RedInk Journalism Award in 2022. Her bylines have appeared in the Sunday Mid-Day, The Swaddle, New Lines Magazine, Scroll, The Asian Age and Muscat Daily.

Join us for a conversation with Jane Borges on Thursday, 13th June, at 5:30pm, at The Dogears Bookshop in Margao. She will speak about her experience as an author and journalist, and of her work with Soboicar. UNQUOTE
