go-kit with pubsub -- any recommendations?

Hi all!

I am building my first go-kit microservice and pubsub support is required. I've read through https://github.com/go-kit/kit/issues/295 but have yet to come to a conclusion on the preferred implementation.

My initial thought was to utilize the subbers as a transport, encode the messages as a Request, and pass them through an Endpoint. The benefits I see are getting the middleware for free and reuse of existing endpoint logic (I could possibly have an HTTP, gRPC and subber that utilize the same Service method).

I am very open to feedback on the design, especially since I'm new to go-kit.

Did you end up encoding the messages as a request as you outlined in July?
