I have no idea what the issue could be. Any assistance will be most appreciated.

Have you tried running GO-Elite through AltAnalyze? 

https://altanalyze.readthedocs.io/en/latest/GOElite/

This is where we have shifted primary development of GO-Elite to, although we intend to come back to this repository.
