Hi,

Is there a way to disable the system email when doing a backup (either from GUI or API call).
Getting "Server Backup Completed Successfully" is not very interesting, if anything getting an email when failing would be more interesting.

Thanks

I think the mails could be quiet useful. For eg. to find when were the backups taken & their locations etc. There could be a choice where admin can choose to get "all" emails / "failure" emails / "no" emails. But its definitely a "nice to have" in my view.

Any updates on this?
We have GoCD 17.8.0 and there still seems to be no way of disabling emails being sent out when a backup is triggered...

No. No one I know is working on it.

It might be a little overkill for this, but you could use mail2alert. https://github.com/magnus-lycka/mail2alert

Mail2alert has a GoCD plugin in case you e.g. want to filter on pipeline group (which can't be seen in the email), but for the backup emails, you could simply use the email plugin to e.g. only let through the emails with "fail" in the subject line.

Hi All,
sorry to arrive late to the party but I recently started using Go and I was wondering about this as well.

I've noticed that currently all emails are sent, even successful ones
Would it be possible to add a checkbox in the server backup config (ie: "Notify only in case of failure") and skip sending email if that option is set when successful?

I'm not a java developer so the amount of effort it would take me is kinda high (I tried to have a look at the code but I'm struggling to find where the UI options should be defined).

Is this something that could be easily implemented?

Thanks for your help.

Best Regards,
    Elisiano Petrini
