Anyone got any tips and/or tricks they wanna share? Post 'em here.
Mine is: to drink all your water, try splitting up your liter bottle (if you're using a liter, you can use this trick with smaller bottles too) into separate glasses of water and drink them at specific times (i.e. drink one glass every half hour). You may have to experiment with how full the glass is and how often you drink it based on the size of the glasses you use.

Yes, I would love some tips, especially in regards to recipes.  I seem to be eating the same meals and am curious what other people enjoy eating (besides the recipes in the book.)

Thanks!

I think I have mentioned before that the South Beach Diet recipes work almost perfectly for Game On. You will have to watch ingredients, and portion sizes, but it's pretty similar.

I will also post my mom's recipe for fabulous Moroccan Prawns. Delish!

Tonight's dinner:

Pork tenderloin marinated in Frank's Red Sauce
Black Beans
Fennel, onion and carrots
Cucumber salad

Freedom, however, is not the last word. Freedom is only part of the story and half of the truth. Freedom is but the negative aspect of the whole phenomenon whose positive aspect is responsibleness. In fact, freedom is in danger of degenerating into mere arbitrariness unless it is lived in terms of responsibleness. That is why I recommend that the Statue of Liberty on
the East Coast be supplemented by a Statue of Responsibility on the West Coast.

I'm not sure I'd be the one to give tips or tricks as I didn't make my weightloss goal but did almost everything right-  however if you eat red meat and get a super lean steak (which I did) - no rib eye or any other fat laden cut..  and then cut it to a small enough size I sprayed the tiniest bit of olive oil cooking spray on it  then put a rub of dried thyme, garlic powder, paprika and ground black pepper and a little bit of kosher salt-  then grilled it- I cannot tell you how awesome it tasted.     I had a spinach salad with it and quinoa for carbs.  To me the only thing missing was wine.   :)     Also during this diet I made buckwheat noodles with "stir fried"(in broth and the tiniest bit of sesame oil for flavor and fat for meal)  veggies (spinach carrots onions mushrooms and zucchini)  and chicken (or tempeh or leave out the protein and use this as a side)  with some soy sauce and rice wine vinegar.  You chill it and have asian cold soba noodles!  I made enough and had several meals of it..

That sounds yum!

And you can absolutely give tips and tricks. Losing 1% of your body weight is not the be all end all. You did a stellar job this week and last. Congratulations are in order.

This is not the'Droid you're looking for.

I think Piph has stated it several times, and I will reiterate because I find it to be true for myself as well...

You can do a perfect Game On week and not lose a pound or even gain some. You can mess it up and lose more than your 1%. It is not very predictable.

It may predictable in the long term, but you have to keep data points and be willing to be objective. Also, your body will age and you will get smaller and smaller, so you data has to curve with that. In short, the body is a chaotic system. Calories in and calories out does indeed work. What they don't tell you is that it only works if you do the math from the day you were created to the day you completely decompose.

Science is a good tool. But it is convinced it is the only way to look at things and it will tell you it knows what its talking about. But does it? We used to think the top level way to cure a person was to leech them. Now we don't. Don't mistake your measuring tools for Truth. They are always erroneous. What is helpful is looking at the long term trends based on the measurements you are taking.

You have to have faith that your body is doing what it's supposed to be doing to be healthy. Weight is just one data point. How do you feel? How are your clothes fitting? Did you lose any inches? Are people commenting on your appearance? Are you struggling mentally/emotionally with our society's irrational obsession with the scales? Are you eating enough? Are you struggling with perfectionism? All of this is part of this path in my experience. And it hurts. So does waking up a limb that has fallen asleep. But if you do not wake it up, it will no longer serve you.

Healthy isn't a number. It's a way of being. And we can't really measure that, even if our health system says it can. It's a story to help us feel in control and to make money. We can only observe and do our personal best. And like this diet system (eat, sleep, drink, and live well), that doesn't pay into our money machine of a society. We have confused authority with being good and popularity with truth. That is a very painful revelation in my opinion.

You didn't ask for all of that. I'm offering it all the same. Because you make me think. Damn you. ;)

And your recipes sound freaking DIVINE!!! Want to eat at your house... :`D <3

Where do you live, Roze? <stands at your front door with a knife and fork> <and a big grin>

I agree. The communication is so totally game on. That and the habits are what really make it for me. :)))

What kind of joint do you think this is?  You don't have to bring your own silverware...  I live east of Springdale just off MLK.

She lived with cats before-  she's smaller than they are- they wouldn't move out- they'd ignore her, just like mine did.    (but when they thought we weren't looking I caught puppycat all curled around Georgie and they were both asleep)... I'm not trying to sell you on taking my dog, just saying that you might not have to worry about your cats as much as you think...
