We are taking the month of August off of Game On, and will return on Wednesday, September 4. With Labor Day weekend coming up, and people having to get ready to get their kids back to school, summer vacations and festivities of all sorts, it was a perfect time to take a break. It's also a great opportunity to see how many of the principles formed in this game have taken hold and see which of the four areas (diet, exercise, water and sleep) get short-changed. I often keep an informal score sheet when I'm not officially on game to help me get a handle on it.

Round #4 will also be a perfect opportunity to bring in new friends who are interested in playing. They will have over a month to get/read the book, and even if they or their family aren't starting school again, there is still that feeling of "okay, let's buckle down and get back to work" that comes from having been on that cycle for many years. Link for the book can be found here:

It is really easy to incorporate friends who live in far-away places due to the email list, so people don't have to be local to play with us. I think in addition to our Oklahoma posse we're going to have a player from Kansas City, Missouri and Eugene, Oregon on our next round! So exciting! And yes, your remote friends are welcome to invite other friends to play. I am shooting for about 20 players for the next round.

Anyhow, let me know if you want to play, and I'll hang on to your name for the new email list.

Thanks again for coming with us on this journey into health. It's been a blast.

Freedom, however, is not the last word. Freedom is only part of the story and half of the truth. Freedom is but the negative aspect of the whole phenomenon whose positive aspect is responsibleness. In fact, freedom is in danger of degenerating into mere arbitrariness unless it is lived in terms of responsibleness. That is why I recommend that the Statue of Liberty on
the East Coast be supplemented by a Statue of Responsibility on the West Coast.
