It is from the old days of libc5
libc4 had ld.so, libc5 had ld-linux.so.1, libc6/glibc2 has ld-linux.so.6
But that's just on i386. On some platforms, the glibc2 dynamic linker is
called ld.so because no older dynamic linker had already claimed that name.
