may be somebody can help me with the following problem.
I use Emacs 19.31 on OS/2 Warp.
With Rmail I often get mails having a wrong display of
german umlaute. It is like reading a ms windows text
file in an plain ascii environment.
Most of them are displayed as graphical characters.
I read the section on standard-display-european in
the manual, but I am already doing what is told there.
I do the following in my .emacs file:
(load "iso-syntax")
(standard-display-8bit 128 254)
(standard-display-european 1)
With Rmail I get exactly those characters displayed
which are to be converted by iso-syntax.el.
Did I forget something or is it a common problem?
Thanks for reading through my posting.
Oliver

Hmmm, could it be that the sender didn't use an ISO 8859.1 compliant
font ? I have the same problem either uder Warp or under Slowlaris
when I get text written by someone using the 437 codepage on a Pee Cee
and still inserting accents...
And now my request for help :
Any way to have mous-avoidance-mode run under warp ?
o oooooo Gian Uberto Lauri "So, are you working on finding
o o sa...@maya.dei.unipd.it that bug *now* or leaving it until
