Don't know anything about W3, but if you've got some data in a buffer,
C-x C-w or C-x C-s or something will write that data to a file.
Doesn't depend on the data you've got, you could edit /vmunix with
Emacs, but DON'T DO IT, of course ;-)

Can somebody tell me how W3 works with ftp? Often when I get a file
(binary or otherwise) it goes into a buffer. Do I just then save that

buffer? Is it that simple?

Try C-h a save [ret]

under w3. It will tell you every command with the word save in it. Also,

C-h b

will tell you all of the key-bindings available under www-mode. I did so and
found

w3-save-as
w3-save-url (bound to C-k)

Hope this helps.
