Please do not reply to spam to the mailing list. Replying to spam
only makes it worse for everyone.
The recent spam came through the news gateway and was seen on the
mailing list. Because the news messages are injected directly into
the mailing list it bypasses the mailing list anti-spam measures.
When there is spam on the news group then there is spam on the mailing
list. It is a direct conversion and there isn't anything that can be
done about it. I am speaking as one of the mailing list admins and
there isn't anything the mailing list administrators can do to stop
it. The only ones who can make changes to the news injection
mechanism is GNU sysadmin.
So please, don't reply to spam.
