I have not until recently started using GNU emacs in X. I am emigrating from
NEdit, and some questions of configurability have popped up:

Is there a way to make the undo command behave more like the undo operation
of NEdit/joe/other editors (where you need another operation `redo' as
well)? (It is sometimes convenient to hold down the redo key to cancel _all_
previous undoes.)

Are there any plans on supporting scrollbar-behaviour that suits two-button
mice better (i.e. a draggable scrollbar-knob)?

When you select text in a buffer by dragging mouse, and the mouse cursor is
moved outside the window boundaries _horizontally_, the selected area won't
change. (However, as long as the mouse cursor is below or above the frame,
it works fine.) Is this deliberate? Is there a configuration variable that
controls this?
