virtual mailbox, delete from backing mailboxes

I have a virtual group, nnvirtual:...., which joins two imap-based mailboxes. When I delete an article (gnus-summary-delete-article) it deletes it in the virtual (combined) mailbox, but not in the original two mailboxes.
Is there any way to really delete an article in the backing mailboxes as well ?
