I talked to Larry Jones and, with his help, decided to take Paul's
advice. I started a "stable" branch called cvs-1-11-x-branch and
updated the version on the trunk to 1.12.0.1 since I have a bunch of new
features I've been waiting to check in, including a first attempt at an
implementation of Kaz Kylheku's atomic commits idea and some features
I'd like to port from CVSNT.

Dissenters, please speak now or forever hold your peace.

But I'd just been converted to the "other side"! :-)

Ah, yes, well, I'll go back to my original side now, thanks. :-)

I assume you'll ask people submitting bug fixes to make them on
the stable branch first, then do a "cvs update -j" to automatically
bring their fix onto the trunk?

Thanks. Paul.

Nitpick: I'd leave the -x out next time, as in: ``cvs-1-12-branch''.

:)

That would be the preferred order of operations for bug fixes. Features
should go directly on the trunk.
