Hi,
I am getting the below problem.

cvs -d :pserver:ruchiras@yagachi:/testrep init
Empty password used - try 'cvs login' with a real password
cvs [init aborted]: authorization failed: server yagachi rejected access to
/testrep for user ruchiras

try 'cvs -d :pserver:ruchira* login' before doing this?

Hi ,
if i am using cvs -d :pserver:ruchira* login then following error is coming.
Here server and client both are in the same machine.

C:\test_repository>cvs -d :pserver:ruchira* login
cvs login: CVSROOT (":pserver:ruchira*")
cvs login: requires a path spec
cvs login:
:pserver[;keyword=value...]:[username[:password]@]host[:port][:]/path

cvs [login aborted]: Bad CVSROOT.

Arre dear, by that '*', I meant remaining part as it was before.

That is, 'cvs -d :pserver:ruchira@yagachi:/testrep login'

I tried that one also.but in CVS Password: i am not able to write anything.i
am doing exploration on cvs command.but i am not able to go further because
i am getting

1)Empty password used - try 'cvs login' with a real password

2)cvs [update aborted]: authorization failed: server yagachi rejected access


to /t

What do you mean, you'r not able to write anything?

You get the prompt 'CVS Password: ', type in your (correct)cvs password
and that's all, proceed, what's a big deal?

cvs init can not be invoked remotely (i.e., via :pserver:). You can only
invoke it locally on the server itself:

cvs -d /path/to/repository init
