XOAuth hangs forever on Please, Awaiting authorization

I just got a new phone, and I'm trying to get Gnotes installed again. I used XOAuth in the past successfully.

Now, when I try:

Browser Opens

I Grant Access

Returns to XOAuth screen, and spins forever - "Please, Awaiting authorization"

Had the same issue, logging in with email/password (not XAuth) works.

If you have GMail 2-way authorization you should use a generated app password.
