gnome-mplayer doesn't work at all

Hello!
I want to try gnome-mplayer but it simply doesn't work, it starts but
plays nor video files, niether mp3s.

mplayer by itself works nicely.

Here is the console output:

Interesting, the error really don't say much.. Can you try setting the
Video out to X11 and the Audio out to something. And then retry the test..

Seems like mplayer is crashing, but not telling us why. Can you play the
same file in mplayer with the -v option and send me that output.

Let me know if you find anything else out.

Also might try running with the "--reallyverbose" option and see if that
gives any more info.

Ok, can you get the code from svn and run gnome-mplayer with the
'--reallyverbose' option.

I don't really see a problem as to why it is not working. So I put an
extra log message into the code to see if it is failing where I think it
is. I also set the state a little earlier, which might help.

Sorry for confusion, it went out that I was using wrong (old) version
of mplayer.
