Rather than creating a whole bunch of bugs individually about gnome
mplayer's container format recognition, can I please refer you too:
http://wiki.multimedia.cx/index.php?title=Category:Container_Formats
This link nominates various container formats. Ive found that ffmpeg
and in turn mplayer basically support just about all of them, though
some features are missing such as WMA Pro audio support but the video
still plays (I do not use 32 bit binary codecs).
Many thanks
Post the mime types and adding them should be no problem. In fact they
only need to be added to the .desktop file and gnome-mplayer will be an
option for those file types. Great way to get started on making a patch
and getting your name in the changelog... ;)
