Hi,
Google Code is being archived, and gnome-mplayer is no exception:
https://code.google.com/p/gnome-mplayer/

What will happen now to the project? Has someone migrated it to github
or gitlab? Gnome-MPlayer is easily my preferred video-playback
software on Linux, and I'd hate to see the project fall by the
wayside...

Regards,
Liviu

Liviu,

Unfortunately development on gnome-mplayer has really slowed down mainly due to the lack of people participating and my own personal move from Linux to OS X. I still commit patches when I get them, but I have not received one in quite a long time. I asked if anyone wanted to take over the project but got no takers.

If someone wants to continue working on the code, moving it to github would be fine with me.

Since Google Code is closing shop, I think it would make sense to move
gnome-mplayer to Github right away. With some luck, someone will pick
up interest in the project and pull requests would start trickling in.

Liviu
