Dear all,
VLC has a nice functionality that allows to gain volume on the audio.
This is done by going beyond 100% of volume (up to 200%). Since Gnome
MPlayer doesn't support this, whenever I have a movie with low volume
I'm forced to use VLC. Would there be a chance to get such UI support
in Gnome MPlayer?

Regards,
Liviu

Volume gain is under Edit -> Preferences on the Mplayer tab. And you
may have to enable Software Volume to use it.

I see, I missed that. I would only suggest that this option would
normally be used occasionally, on certain problematic files. In this
sense setting a permanent preference and changing it always as
necessary is awkward. It would be nicer to have a more readily
available slider, somewhere close to the volume slider.

Liviu,

In mplayer this gain is not something that can be set dynamically, so
this is the best place for it. Also I do not desire to clutter up the
UI by adding another volume control if I can help it.
