I tried to get this working in gnome shell 3.4 (arch) a couple of weeks ago but I had no luck. I hope this can be fixed soon.

I'm using GNOME Shell 3.4.1. I followed this instruction to install
GlobalMenu
http://www.webupd8.org/2011/09/get-global-menu-in-gnome-shell.html. Can't
get it to work.

"Globa...@globalmenu.org" had error: Failed to evaluate init
function:TypeError:Main.panel._leftBox.get_children_list is not a function

This is for Gnome 2, you won't be ever able to use it with Gnome 3+.

What we're waiting on is a fix to this bug. Any ideas on how to make a
globalmenu that is compatible with GNOME 3?

Gnome Shell 3.4 probably changed the API again. Should be a reasonably easy
fix if you have the time to follow Gnome Shell changes. The menu plugin
itself _is_ compatible with GNOME3.
