thanks a lot for porting this to Mate. I'd actually tried to "migrate.sh"
the original gnome* to mate* desktop. Compiled but everytime I tried to
launch the applet. It gives the message "The panel encountered a problem
while loading "OAFIID:GlobalMenu_MatePanelApplet"".

I then tried to compile from the git you ported. same error message as
well. any clue on this? thanks a lot.
