I am happy to inform that we are going to conduct an ARTS FESTIVAL in Siruvaachoor. One of the many hamlets near Perambalur. We will be conducting the competitions together with the help of Mr.Ravichandran, a trustee of CONCEPT INDIA(trust). I will confirm the exact date & competitions on Monday but as of now our plan is to conduct the competition for 6 schools & one school that is being run by Mr.Ravichandran especially for the drop outs.
The ARTS FESTIVAL will be conducted on AUGUST 12th & AUGUST 13th at the auditorium near the office of CONCEPT INDIA.
(Suggestions for the name of the festival are most welcome. We are in need of a CATCHY name. Please, mail about it at the earliest as we have to print certificates & design the ID cards.)
THEME OF THE FESTIVAL - "INDEPENDENCE FROM CORRUPTION & TERRORISM" (ஊழல் மற்றும் பயங்கரவாதத்தில் இருந்து விடுதலை.)
The festival will comprise of the following competitions.
1) ESSAY COMPETITION - Both English & Thamizh.
2) SPEECH - Both English & Thamizh.
3) DRAWING/PAINTING - (ALL Pencil drawing, Sketching, Painting etc. are taken together.)
4) FANCY DRESS -
5) DANCE COMPETITION - (All styles are taken together)
6) SINGING - (All styles are taken together). [Subject to availability of JUDGES]
ALL THE ABOVE MENTIONED COMPETITIONS WILL BE CONDUCTED FOR 3 CATEGORIES.
CATEGORY A - Classes 1,2,3.4.
CATEGORY B - Classes 5,6,7.
CATEGORY C - Classes 8,9,10.
Altogether we are in need of 8 X 3 Categories X 3 Prizes.(I, II, III) = 72 Prizes.
Our Preliminary budget is as follows.
PRIZES - Rs 7,200
CERTIFICATES - Rs 5,000
PRINTING - Rs 500
FLUX - Rs 500
AUDITORIUM RENT - Rs 2000
P.A . SYSTEM RENT - Rs 1500
TEA & DRINKS - Rs 3000
SNACKS - Rs 3000
Memento for Guests
& Judges - Rs 1000
STATIONERIES - Rs 300
Misc. - Rs 1000

Details about CHIEF GUESTS, JUDGES etc are to be decided later. However I want any of you to volunteer for any competition. For instance, I can take up the responsibilities of conducting the essay competition. I want people who can also be the judges of any of these competitions.
