Hi,

The 'Bonding a Gmvault-db with multiple accounts' explanation does not specify how the multiple accounts backup is handled.  I was wondering if in the event of recovery of one of the multiple accounts, it will be possible to identify and upload messages link to that specific account.  Thanks

Hi,

Sorry for the late answer but I was on vacation.
If you backup multiple accounts in one "Gmvault-db" then it will not be possible to restore the emails of account A into Gmail account A-new and emails of account B into Gmail account B-new for example.
To do such thing, you should backup each email account independently in 2 different Gmvault-db to quick things separated.

Hope to have answered your questions other

Best regards,
Guillaume

After successfully backing up one of our accounts I am soon to do another and I am expecting to have two "GMvault-db" folders (one for each account) but I am just curious how can one distinguish one from the other?

Thanks Guillaume for your efforts. It is this type of software that I find so useful and can be appreciated by novices (me) and probably experienced users as well.

21Rouge, you can name the directory differently for example with -d:
gmvault sync myfirstgm...@gmail.com -d %HOME%/myfirstgmailaccount
and
gmvault sync mysecondaccount -d %HOME%/mysecondaccount

Also, a gmvault-db is by default bonded to one account and if you try to sync the emails from another account into the given gmvault-db then Gmvault will detect that and will tell you to force that action with  -m, or --multiple-db-owner.
You can look at http://gmvault.org/in_depth.html#backup (The Gmvault-db paragraph for more info).

Hi Zoobert,

Is it possible to explain how to name the different directories a bit more clearly please.   My first data base I saved was gmvault sync thenameofmy...@gmail.com .  Now that I already have a gmvault-db how do I create a new one for a different gmail address.  I just don't understand what -d %HOME%/myfirstgmailaccount means I guess. Thank you!
