Hi,
now I've the same problem than can be read in gmvault GitHub repository (https://github.com/gaubert/gmvault/issues/332): Google gives a message after signing in the Google account:
"Sign in with Google temporarily disabled for this app
This app has not been verified yet by Google in order to use Google Sign In."

My actual environment components are little oldies (unfortunately this prevent me from signing up the GitHub), however when I used gmvault last: 2018.08.23. it was without any problem for more Gmail accounts of mine in  this same situation:
OS: WinXP Home SP3
Browsers:
FireFox 52.0 (32-bit)
Vivaldi 1.0.435.46 () (32-bit)

The relevant piece from the cmd shell:

Welcome to gmvault (version 1.9.1).
[. . . ]
Once you've granted gmvault access, enter the verification code and press enter:

Error: Problems when trying to connect to Google oauth2 endpoint: https://accounts.google.com/o/oauth2/token.
Error: HTTP Error 400: Bad Request.

I suspect His Majesty The Google changed something again.

I donated the developers in 2017 so I think I could be a "Major Goddess" and I can hope to solve this problem somehow.
Many thanx.

Hello Everybody,
I've found a 2-step workaround((1)&(2)) and I've downloaded my mails successfully - at the moment:
the idea came from the Github forum ( https://github.com/gaubert/gmvault/issues/332 ): I left the oauth authentication(1) for interactive command-line one (not recommended but what should I do?):
gmvault sync f...@gmail.com -p
but it was not enough so then I searched some info in support.google.com/accounts/  (I don't want to set-up 2-step verification on my google account) and Voila! I found a Google Account setting(2)https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6010255
Turning on access in the Less secure app access panel didn't took effect immediately but some later the authentication was successful.

It is not sure that it  will work later so I hurry to save (archive) all mails of mine and then I say goodbye to His Majesty The Google.

Many thanx to GitHub users..

Than You Eva, so short workaround is:
1.) Go to https://myaccount.google.com/lesssecureapps?pli=1 enable acces fom less secure apps.

2.) Use shell command:
gmvault ......... your....@gmail.com -p
(for less secure acces with password from app... i believe, it's transferred over https as emails.)

3.) After backup emails disable access on setting page.
