hello!

Backed up a very large load emails from one account, and im currently restoring them to a new account..

But after a day of uploads, it errors with:

APPEND command error: BAD ['[TOOBIG] Message too large. https://support.google.com/mail/answer/6584#limit'

Aaarrrgh! :D

How can I avoid the email that is blocking this?
How is it possible to download an email of a certain size and yet not restore it!

And lastly..

Can I restore just a certain number range of emails? (slight variation on the first question..!)

Any help gratefully received!

best wishes

Andrew

Well, ive kept investigating myself...

So when the project says it has no database, it means you can delete emails from the db folder and see what happens..

I killed everything until 2014, and "resumed" and so it avoided the large email

How is it that it can back up a big email but not restore it?

Anyway, I also had trouble with paths on windows. Forward slash, back slash.. Who knows.

What ever I tried with -d to point to the folder failed. So I did a fresh install and copied the emails to the standard folder hierarchy. Then it worked. But a shame I couldnt move the 30 gigs to a large second drive.

Last point. As every email is zipped, you cant easily search anything on windows. Be lovely to do that. I could have avoided restoring them all together

I believe Google changed its algorithm since the release of 1.9.1 and it's no longer allowing attachments over 25MB. So you'd be able to sync/download the e-mail but not restore it.
