WIN THE CHANCE TO BE A KEYNOTE SPEAKER!

STUDENT STORIES CONTEST FOR YOUTH & YOUNG ADULTS

We are collaborating with the Nature’s Voices Project to support youth perspectives and the programs they have been transformed by; and to listen actively to the generation who will be the most affected by climate change. We are seeking dynamic youth (ages 13-21) with a personal and inspiring story to tell about working with food justice, permaculture and other related community resilience programs.

The Contest winner will receive a keynote speaking slot on Saturday evening at the Convergence and a cash prize!

The deadline for submissions (written essays, spoken word, rap or poetry submitted in writing or video) is September 20th.

CONTRIBUTE TO THE EQUITY & INCLUSION SCHOLARSHIP FUND!

Communities of color, our young people and those of us living in under-resourced neighborhoods are hit first and worst by economic breakdown, climate change and environmental crises -- and often have the most knowledge about what solutions are really working on the ground in their place.

Please help us build an inclusive and representative movement for sustainable and resilient communities by supporting our Equity and Inclusion Scholarship Fund in one of two ways:

Your contribution of any size will go directly to help provide stipends and travel expenses to honor participation of leaders from underserved communities; and scholarships for youth and participants from diverse communities.

FOR MORE INFO ON THE EQUITY & INCLUSION SCHOLARSHIP FUND VISIT:

“Diversity is a core principle in creating living systems. That’s why I’m glad the Permaculture community is working hard to include more people of color and youth at the upcoming Building Resilient Communities Convergence. Cultural diversity will lead to a better conference which will produce a more resilient movement.”

-Van Jones - Bestselling Author, Founder of Green For All, Rebuild The Dream & Ella Baker Center for Human Rights
